Jigawa state executive council, has approved the release of the sum of ₦2,651,596,547.52 billion only, for the conduct of the 2026 Hajj operations by pilgrims from the state.
The State Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sport and Culture, Mr Sagir Musa, made this known while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the weekly executive council meeting in Dutse on Wednesday.
He said that the fund approval is aimed at ensuring the smooth and efficient airlifting and welfare of intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
“The fund will be utilized for critical components of the Hajj operations, including air transportation, accommodation, feeding, medical services, orientation programmes, and other logistical arrangements.
“This is to ensure a hitch-free pilgrimage for all pilgrims from the state as they embark on the holy journey,” Mr Musa explained.
The council he said, is committed to supporting religious obligations and ensuring that Jigawa pilgrims perform the Hajj in a coordinated manner, in line with international best practices issued by Saudi authorities.
The council according to the Commissioner, further assured intending pilgrims that all arrangements for the 2026 Hajj operations will be handled with transparency, accountability, and efficiency.
He noted that all relevant agencies will work closely, to ensure the success of the exercise and the welfare of the pilgrims, to enable them fulfill their religious duties without hardship.
