Governor Malam Umar Namadi of Jigawa state, has approved the reduction of official working hours for state civil servants, to honoe the 2025 Ramadan fast.

This was contained in a statement signed by the state Head of Service, Mr Muhammad Dagaceri, made available to Newsmen on Tuesday in Dutse.

It said, “Civil servants in the state will report to the office at 9:00 AM and close at 3:00 PM from Mondays to Thursdays, throughout the Ramadan period.

“There is an immediate reduction of two hours from the previous closing time of 5:00 PM. On Fridays, the civil servants will report to work at 9:00 AM and close at 1:00 PM,” the statement said.

The Head of Service in the statement, explained that the gesture is intended to provide civil servants, with opportunities to prepare for the Ramadan break and engage fully in the spiritual activities associated with the holy month.

“It is hoped that civil servants in the state will use the Ramadan period to pray for God’s guidance and blessings for our state and the country in general,” Dagaceri stated.
