Jigawa state government has warned food vendors trusted with the free feeding program to avoid inconsistency or face sanctions.
The state Commissioner for Special Duties, Mr Auwal Sankara, gave the warning in a statement on Wednesday in Dutse.
He said that he has received reports of insufficient distribution of the agreed number of food packs in about 17 centres across many local governments.
“As the Commissioner overseeing the free feeding project, I warn the people concerned to meet up to the set arrangements or face revocation.
“On behalf of the government, I wish to further warn the vendors to be God-fearing and bear in mind that we have secret monitors watching over the project,” Sankara said.
He however appealed to all concerned, to ensure that they fulfil the obligations expected of them, for effective execution of the project.
The Jigawa state disbursed the sum of N4,836,546,000,00 for the 2025 free Ramadan feeding, across the 27 local government areas of the state.
