Jigawa state government has began exploring partnership possibilities with an Indian poultry conglomerates, Srinivasa Farms.
A statement signed by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Hamisu Gumel made this known on Wednesday.
It said that the effort is a step towards transforming and revitalization of the agricultural and livestock sectors in Jigawa State.
According to the report, Srinivasa Farms’ commitment to quality nutrition, biosecurity and farmer support, makes it an ideal partner for Jigawa’s agricultural modernization agenda.

It highlighted that the Jigawa technical delegation held discussions with the firm and reached a mutual understanding on eight key areas of collaboration.

They included, Poultry Disease Management, Hatchery Technology Deployment, Biosecurity Infrastructure and Farmer & Extension Worker Training.
The rest are comprehensive training programs for local farmers and veterinary extension officers, Research & Development, Technical Visit to Jigawa, Support for Poultry Cooperatives and Poultry Feed & Nutrition Solutions.
The report however, disclosed that official Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), is expected to be signed in the coming weeks to formalize the partnership.
Gumel in the report, stated that Governor Umar Namadi, had expressed optimism about the initiative’s impact.

The delegation’s visit to India is part of a broader international agricultural trade mission designed to attract expertise, partnerships, and innovations that align with Jigawa State’s 12-Point Agenda for economic growth and food security.
