Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa state, has set up a 10 man commitee to review its regional planning framework for urban renewal and development. 

Jigawa state Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sport and Culture,  Mr Sagir Musa disclosed this in an interview with newsmen after the weekly executive council meeting on Friday in Dutse.

He said that a presentation by Pragmatic Solutions Consult, triggered the action because it showcased a plan would provide a strategic blueprint for land use and infrastructural development.

The plan he said, will also provide a quality environmental management, housing, transportation, and economic zoning for growth across the state in orderly and equitable way.

The committee according to Musa, will have Commissioner of Land  as Chairman, while Commissioners of Environment, Commerce, Information, Higher Education, Health serve as members.

Other members include Director General Invest Jigawa, Director General ICT & Digital Economy, Director General Jigawa Agricultural Transformation Agenda, while Executive Secretary Urban Development serves as Secretary.

“After constituting the committee, Gov. Umar Namadi, emphasized that effective regional planning is critical to guiding Jigawa’s transformation into a modern, resilient, and economically vibrant state.

“The governor reaffirmed the present administration’s continued committed to ensuring that all urban and rural communities benefit from well-planned growth and improved living standards,” Musa said.
