People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has beaten Nigeria’s ruling party, All Progressive Congress (APC), at polling unit 001 of Kofar Arewa Primary school polling Centre, Babura, where the ex Governor, Mr Badaru Abubakar casted his vote.

Mr Ibrahim Shehu, the INEC Officer overseeing the polling unit dislosed this to newsmen, that PDP carted away with 308 votes against the APC that got 112 votes at the  001 polling unit.

The ex Governor and the current Nigeria’s Defence Minister casted his votes at the polling unit on Saturday, amidst tight security and left the premises.

It was gathered that the election process at both Babura and Garki local government areas was peacefully conducted amidst tight security.

Some of the residents who spoke with our Correspondent, commended the conduct of the exercise and specially commended the security provision in the area.

The Education Minister, Mrs Suwaiba Ahmed was also in Babura to cast her vote and expressed optimism that APC will emerge victorious at the overall election in the area.

It would be recalled that Garki/Babura Federal Constituency lost its representative, Honourable Isa Dogonyaro earlier, a situation that called for the bye-election in the area.

Meanwhile, Honorable Muktar Rabi’u of the APC, has won the National Aseembly seat for the Babura-Garki Federal Constituency of Jigawa state by-election, as declared by the INEC returning Officer, Prof. Sani Ibrahim Ismail.
