Jigawa state Chief Judge, Justice Umar Sadiq, has sworn in Barr. Kamalu Salihu Adamu, as a notary Public for the state on Thursday in Dutse.
A statement signed by the Director, Publicity & Protocol of the Jigawa State Judiciary, Mr Abbas Wangara, made this known.
Wangara in the statement said that in a remark at the wearing ceremony, the CJ commemded Bar. Adamu’s dedication to the legal profession and urged him to be responsible, diligent and possess ethical integrity.
The statement also said that the Justice Sadiq highlighted the crucial role of Notaries Public in facilitating legal and commercial transactions both within and outside Nigeria.
In his response, Barrister Kamalu Salihu Adamu expressed gratitude for the honor, pledging to uphold the responsibilities of his office with sincerity and professionalism.
Meanwhile, Adamu was sworn in, in accordance with Section 3 of the Notaries Public Act, Cap 141, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria.
It was gathered that the event marked a milestone in Barr. Adamu’s legal career, granting him the authority to authenticate documents, administer oaths, and certify affidavits, among other notarial duties.
Adamu as a Notary Public, is authorised to perform certain legal formalities, especially to draw up or certify contracts, deeds and other documents for jurisdictions.
