National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Kano Zonal Command, has apprehended a suspected human trafficker and rescued seven female victims in a coordinated operation in Kano.
The head of the Agency in Kano, Esq Abdullahi Babale made this known in a statement issued to Digital dispatch on Thursday in Kano.
The raid according to the report, was carried out on November 2, 2025, following credible intelligence revealing that the victims were being hosted at a location pending their trip to Saudi Arabia.
According to the report, preliminary investigations revealed that the five victims were identified to be Nigerians, while two of them were of Nigerian indigenes.
They were reportedly transported to Accra, Ghana, where their travel documents were processed under a trafficking arrangement.
The victims, based on the report were allegedly placed under debt bondage, expected to be repaid in N10 million worth by each, after being subjected to forced labour in Saudi Arabia.
The report said, “Arrangements had already been concluded for their departure from Abuja airport on Tuesday, December 3, when the operation disrupted the plans.
“One suspects is currently in custody, while other accomplices remain at large as investigations continues,” Babale said.
NAPTIP Babale emphasized, remains committed to tracking down human traffickers and their networks, thus ensuring justice for vulnerable victims.
