Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa state, has mourned the death of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed on Sunday evening at a London Hospital, as announced by his family.
A statement signed by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Hamisu Gumel, made available on Monday, described Buhari as a revered leader who served Nigeria with dedication, integrity, and discipline.
The statement said, Namadi, on behalf of the government and people of Jigawa State, has extended heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the late President.
The statement said that the Governor, prayed for strength, comfort and the fortitude to bear the profound loss of the former President.
Namadi, further extended condolences to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the government and people of Katsina State and the entire nation.
“Late President Buhari will be remembered for his unalloyed commitment to the unity and progress of Nigeria, his principled leadership, and his lifelong dedication to public service,” The statement disclosed.
It further stressed that Jigawa State has joined the nation in mourning a statesman and praying to Almighty God, to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest in paradise.
