Muhammad K. Dagaceri, Jigawa state Head of Service

    Dutse, 31st December 2024

Kebbi State Government has sent a high powered delegation to Jigawa state, to learn the state’s positive pension scheme policy of Jigawa State.

This was contained in a statement signed by Ismaila Ibrahim Dutse,  the
Public Relations Officer, Jigawa state of the Head of the Civil Service on Monday.

The Kebbi State Chairman, Contributory Pension Scheme, Rt Honourable, Hassan Muhammad, said in the statement,  that the visit concerned the pension scheme model adopted by Jigawa State.
The statement said that the Chairman led the Kebbi state delegation, to one day study visit to the office of the Jigawa State Head of Service, Alhaji Muhammad Dagaceri.

According to him, “Kebbi State wanted to borrow a leaf from Jigawa State using such model with a view to improving its pension scheme.

“Governor of Kebbi State, Dr. Nasir Idris insisted that we must come to Jigawa and see how they operate, because Kebbi State Contributory Pension Board has been there for 10 or more years but it is stagnant,” the Chairman said.

Hon. Muhammad then offered heartfelt condolences to Governor, Umar Namadi of Jigawa state, over the passing away of his beloved mother, Hajiya Maryam Namadi Umar and his son Abdulwahab Umar Namadi, on behalf of the delegation.

Responding, the Jigawa State Head of Service Alhaji Muhammad Dagaceri, said the state contributory pension scheme was initiated in 2001, going side by side with the public service pensions system, being paid directly from government revenues.

Dagaceri commended the decision of the Kebbi government, to understudy Jigawa Pension Scheme, saying it is a step in the right direction, which more States should emulate.

Such visits he said, will encourage knowledge sharing and better service delivery to the people.

He assured the delegation, of all the possible support and cooperation to achieved the desired objectives.
