Primary Healthcare Department of Kaugama local government area of Jigawa state, has conducted mass mobilization for Measles, rubella, polio, routine immunization and other tropical diseases integrated vaccination on Sunday.

A statement signed by the Information officer of the Council Mr Musa Muhammed made this known. 

Muhammed in the statement, explained that during the mobilization, the vaccination was administered by the wife of the Council chairman, Mrs Rukayya Masaki-Usman.

The statement explained that the council first lady, sensitised mothers on the importance of the vaccination to the well being of their children.

She urged them to forward their children to nearest immunization centers for the vaccination.

The statement however, revealed that the  primary health care coordinator of the Council, Mr Abdu Karkarna said  the exercise will commence on Monday across the LG.

He said the primary health care office  has prepared and employed ad-hoc staff, both technical and non technical to conduct the exercise. 

The representative of the world health organization (WHO) Mr Abdullahi Kankani, according to the report, solicited the support of traditional rulers and other stakeholders for the successful conduct of the exercise. 

In his remarks, the Ward Development Commitee (WDC) chairman of Dakaiyyawa ward, Mr Musa Ibrahim, urged community leaders to ensure mobilisation of their environs for the success of the period of the exercise.

He further commended the effort of the council Chairman, Mr Masaki Usman, for supporting healthcare services across the local government.
