Jigawa state Executive Council, has adopted the report of the state’s Commitee on Safety of schools, health institutions and courts across the state and sanctioned employment of private security personnel.
The state Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports and Culture, Mr Sagir Musa made this known in an interview with newsmen after the state Executive council meeting on Tuesday.
He said that in alignment with the state government’s commitment to safeguarding lives and properties, the council has recommended the adoption of the preventive security strategies, to ensure maximum protection for all.
The Commissioner explained that the report raised issues of concern regarding the security of schools, Magistrate and Shari’a courts as well as General hospitals and other health facilities across the state.
“To achieve this, the Council has sanctioned the engagement of private indigenous security companies, employing 9,972 Jigawa State youth from the respective communities.
“This will enable them to serve as security personnel, fostering local employment and community-driven security solutions,” Musa said.
Musa explained that the present administration under Gov. Umar Namadi, has priotized security of lives and properties for all citizens at all levels.
