Jigawa state Executive Council has approved the release of N250 million as
matching fund for the purchase of Ready to Use Therapeutic Foods

The State Commissioner for Information, Youth and Sports, Mr Sagir Musa revealed this while briefing newsmen after the state Council meeting in Dutse on Wednesday.
He said that the effort is to strengthen the agreement between Jigawa State Government and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), as part
of the administration’s efforts to combat malnutrition, as presented by the Ministry of Health.

The Commissioner revealed that the council, has also approved the request of Jigawa State Pilgrims Board for the release of N3,360 billion, as loan, to reserve 400 seats, for intending Jigawa State pilgrims, for the 2025 Hajj Operations.
The approval he said, was in line with Council’s satisfaction, with the timely refund of N2.2 billion loan granted to the Board in 2024, as presented by the Secretary to the State Government.
“In line with present administration’s effort to strengthen Health Insurance Scheme in the State, the Council has approved the inclusion of political office holders into the scheme.
“This was provided by the Jigawa State Contributory Health Management Agency (JICHMA) law no. 02 -2024 as amended, with a
view to improve the universal health coverage in the state and Nigeria at large,” Musa said.
