Governor Malam Umar Namadi of Jigawa state has donated the sum or N2 million to the families of two deceased members of the Hunter’s Council of Nigeria, Jigawa State Chapter.
The donation was presented by the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Malam Bala Ibrahim on Wednesday in Diutse.
Mr Ibrahim, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Administration and Finance Directorate, Mr Abdullahi Sa’idu, said the fund was not a compensation but only a support to express government’s concern.
He further extended condolences on behalf of the state government and the people of Jigawa State, highlighting the importance of providing assistance to families during such difficult times.
He reassured the families of the state’s steadfast support and encouraged them to use the donation wisely.
Mr Musa Ibrahim, a son of one of the deceased hunters Mr Ibrahim Birnin Kudu, expressed gratitude for the gesture and pledged to ensure equitable distribution of the funds among family members.
In his response, Mr Muhammad Idris, Deputy Commander Administration of the Hunter’s Council of Nigeria, Jigawa State Chapter, praised the two deceased hunters as gentlemen and prayed for the repose of their souls.
The entire Hunter’s Council of Nigeria, Jigawa State Chapter, expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the support extended to the families of the deceased members.
The two deceased hunters whose families recieved the donation were Sabo Birniwa and Ibrahim Birnin Kudu, who tragically lost their lives while in active service.
