Jigawa state Governor Umar Namadi has reshuffled his cabinet and reassigns portfolio to three commissioners, in order to strengthen his administration’s aim to achieve greater Jigawa.
The state Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports and Culture, Mr Sagir Musa made this known in an interview with newsmen on Monday, after the state Executive council meeting.
He said that the changes have became necessary, in order to boost the administration’s effort to ensure sustainable development in the state.
The three commissioners affected included commissioner for Land, Housing, Urban Development and Regional Planning, Mr Muhammed Alhassan, who was moved to the Ministry of Water Resources.
The state commissioner for Water Resources, Mr Ibrahim Hannungiwa, was moved to the Ministry for Local government and community development.
Mr Ahmed Garba, was moved from Ministry for local government and community development to the Ministry of Land, Housing, Urban Development and Regional Planning.
Meanwhile, while responding to questions, the Commissioner explained that the shake-off was done in the best interest of the state and had nothing to do with performance of each of the affected Commissioners.
Similarly, Mr Musa explained that the changes will be executed with immediate effect and are expected to report at their new offices not later than 19th May 2025.
