    Gov. Namadi reaffirms commitment to safety and health of citizens

    Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa state, has reaffirmed commitment to provide and ensure safety and health at work places in the state, to commemorate the World Day for Safety and Health 2025.
    Namadi made the reaffirmation when he received the management of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), who paid him a courtesy call on Monday.
    Represented by the Jigawa state Head of Service, Mr Muhammad Dagaceri, Namadi the commitment is our of his 12 point agenda of  ensuring the safety and well-being of citizens.
    He stressed Jigawa state’s readiness to collaborate closely with the NSITF, to bolster safety measures throughout the state.
    In his remarks, Mr Fateh Abdulkadir, the Branch Manager of the NSITF in Jigawa State, noted that the World Day for Safety and Health at Work was established by the International Labour Organization (ILO).
    He revealed that it is commemorated to promote awareness on the prevention of workplace accidents and diseases on a global scale.
    Mr Abdulkadir urged the state government to collaborate with his organization, to enhance safety initiatives within the State.

    During the event, representatives from the Federal Fire Service in Jigawa State, conducted a practical demonstration on effective fire incident management.

    They showcased the best practices on using fire extinguishers and fire blankets, as an approach to equip attendees with vital skills for ensuring safety in their workplaces.

    The theme for the 2025 World Day for Safety and Health at Work is “Revolutionizing health safety: the role of AI and digitalisation at work.”

    The theme focuses on the impacts of digitalization and Artificial Intelligence (AI) on workers’ health and safety.
