    Gov. Namadi invests N81 billion regional roads to boost economy and infrastructure

    Governor Umar Namadi, has said that his administration has invested N81 billion naira onon regional roads to expand nfrastructure across the state.

    A statement signed by Mr Hamisu Gumel, the Chief Press Secretary, made this known on Monday.

    It said that Gov Namadi, revealed this during the commissioning of Mallam Madori–Gari Uku–Kanya Babba–Malorin Kasim–Abori–Sumburtu–Diginsa Road, in Mallam Madori local government area.

    The projects according to him, encompasses six key projects totaling 179 kilometers, at a combined cost of over ₦81 billion.

    The report said that the six regional roads included the Mallam Madori–Gari Uku–Kanya Babba–Malorin Kasim–Abori–Sumburtu–Diginsa Road (34.5 km) and Arbus–Girbobo–Garin Bukar Road (33.5 km).

    There was also Dundubus–Yanjaji–Wangara Road (16.65 km), Jahun – Takalafiya – Zareku – Kafin Hausa With Spur From Takalafiya To Dangyatum Road (38 km) and Kukayasku – Malamaba – Katuka – Garin Kwalandi Road (34.5 km).

    Others were Farun Daba – Maitsani – Baauzini – Kafin Chiroma – Gallu Babba – Gallu Karama – Karkarna Bye-Pass Roads (13.2km) respectively. 

    The Governor noted that in every local government, his administration ensured that at least one major project is being commissioned.

    “It has been a tradition that in each of the local government areas we visited, we will have at least one project that we commissioned,” said Namadi according to the statement.

    It stressed that Namadi commissioned the Mallam Madori’s 34.5 kilometer road, at the cost of 18.5 billuon naira, to cater for seven hard to reach farming communities to enable to convey farm produce to the nearest markets.

    It further explained that the project awarded to Cosgrove Investment Limited, will eas the movement of goods and people, disclosing that 35 percent of the project has already been completed.

    Namadi the statement said, expressed optimism that the road will be fully completed within the next one year, ahead of the 18-month completion period.

    The Governor it explained, pledged his administration’s commitment to continue pursuing projects that directly touch the lives of citizens.

    “Our focus remains on infrastructure, education, health, agriculture, and job creation as key components of our 12-Point Agenda for a Greater Jigawa,” Namadi said according to the statement.

    Namadi further acknowledged the support of the Federal Government under President Bola Tinubu, saying that the state’s progress is strengthened through alignment with national development priorities.
