    Gov. Namadi congratulates new NUJ excos, applauds the electoral process

    Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa state, has expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected executives of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Jigawa State Council.
    This was contained in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Hamisu Mohammed on Tuesday.
    It said the governor praised the peaceful and transparent conduct of the elections, commending members for their commitment to advancing press freedom and professionalism both within the state and beyond.

    The governor according to the statement, urged the new leadership of the NUJ, to adhere to the highest ethical standards in journalism, promote truthfulness, and remain vigilant in their role as society’s watchdog.

    It also added that Namadi reiterated his administration’s dedication, to supporting press freedom, thus emphasized the importance of supporting journalists to operate freely and responsibly.

    Additionally, the statement noted that Gov. Namadi tasked the new executives, to lead by example, uphold professional integrity, and strive for the advancement of the union and the state at large.

    Furthermore, the statement extended the governor’s best wishes to the new officers, praying for God’s guidance and wishing them a successful tenure.

    The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Jigawa state Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Jigawa state Council elected new leaders on Monday.
    The new leaders are Ismaila Ibrahim as Chairman, Nura Sani as Vice Chairman, Auwal Kazaure emerged as Treasurer and Najib Umar as the Financial Secretary,
    Others elected included Aisha Abba Ahmed of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) as Secretary General and Muhammed Aminu as Assistant Secretary respectively.
