Gov. Umar Namadi of Jigawa state has appointed Local Government Coordinators for the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme (RHWDP), to steer the movement in Jigawa state.
The state Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sport and Culture, Mr Sagir Musa made this known in a statement made available to newsmen in Dutse.
The appointments according to the statement, are part of the Namadi administration’s sustained commitment to strengthening grassroots governance.
“It also aims at promoting inclusive development, and ensuring effective implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda at ward and community levels,” Musa explained in the statement.
The report added that the newly appointed LGA Coordinators, are expected to provide leadership, coordination and oversight for the implementation of RHWDP activities within their respective Local Government Areas.
It however highlighted that their responsibilities include, working with ward coordinators, traditional institutions, community stakeholders and relevant government agencies, to ensure transparency, accountability, and impact of the programme.
The statement disclosed that the programme is designed to accelerate socio-economic development, enhance community participation, and improve service delivery at the grassroots.
Moreso, the government congratulated the appointees and urged them to discharge their duties with dedication, integrity and strong sense of responsibility in serving the state and its citizens.
