    Gov Namadi Allocates Hajj Seats to 54 LG Facilitators and scholars

    Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board, has said that Governor Umar Namadi, has approved the allocation of 54 hajj seats to 54 facilitators and scholars for the 2025 hajj operations.
    The Director General of the board, Alhaji Ahmed Labbo, made this known in an interview with newsmen on Monday in Dutse, the Jigawa state capital.

    He said that the hajj seat allocation is to enable the facilitators and scholars guide the state intending pilgrims, both in Nigeria and in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

    Labbo said, the board initiated the gesture, being the first of its kind first of its kind in Jigawa state.

    According to him, “Amongst the facilitators and scholars are both males and females, who were drawn based on merit, from each of the 27 local government areas of the state.”

    He pointed out that, two people were selected from each of the 27 local government areas of the state.

    The DG however, noted that the selected facilitators and scholars are mandated to train and educate prospective pilgrims on obligations, tenets and cardinal principles of the Hajj exercise.

    The aim according is to Labbo, is to equip them with knowledge on the proper and acceptable hajj rites, especially for those performing the excercise for the first time.

    “Effective and proper orientation will educate the pilgrims and prepare them to conduct the Hajj, in accordance with the teachings of Islam and be good ambassadors of the country,” Labbo sai.d

    Meanwhile, the DG revealed that the daily hajj orientation exercise for the 2025 intending pilgrims, will continue in all the designated centres across the state after Ramadan.

    Fuethermore, Labbo disclosed that the board will soon commence the distribution of travell kits, for the state intending pilgrims.

    “The board will soon distribute 8kg bags and uniforms to center officers, for onward distribution to prospective pilgrims,” he noted.

    He thus explained that the airlift for 2025 intending pilgrims, is scheduled for May 2025, by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

    Labbo however, highlighted that NAHCON, has assigned Max Air, to airlift the Jigawa state pilgrims to Saudi Arabia, via Nuhu Muhammadu Sunusi International airport Dutse.

    The DG commended Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa state for the support and cooperation given to the board at all times.
