Dutse, Jan.28, 2026 Jigawa state executive council, has approved the release of the sum of ₦2,651,596,547.52 billion only, for the conduct of the 2026 Hajj operations by pilgrims from the state. Kano Jan. 28, 2026 United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), has called for urgent action to improve water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services in schools and primary healthcare facilities across Kano and Jigawa states. Chief of UNICEF Field Office Kano, Mr. Rahama Rihood Mohammed Farah, made the call during a media and stakeholders’ dialogue on WASH services in the two states. Kano, Jan.18, 2026 Kano State Police Command, has confirmed arrest of three suspects in connection with the gruesome murder of a housewife and her six children in Dorayi Chiranchi Quarters, Kano on  Saturday 17th January, 2026.
