Chairman of the Governing Council, Federal University Dutse, Prof. Shuaibu Abdulrahim has announced the emergence of Prof. Ahmad Muhammad Gumel as the new Vice Chancellor of the University.
Addressing newsmen after the extraordinary meeting, the Chairman said that the Council has approved the appointment of Professor Gumel as the 4th substantive Vice Chancellor, effective from 10th February, 2026.
According to him, “The selection process followed a rigorous and meticulous process in which 21 applicants were shortlisted and interviewed yet Gumel emerged as winner.
The chairman of the university Council commended the new VC and tasked him on discharging his duties and responsibilities diligently.
The Vice-Chancellor designate, Professor Ahmed Muhammed Gumel in his remark, praised the Almighty God for his emergence as the new VC.
He extended gratitude to the joint selection team, the Chairman of the Governing Council, incumbent VC and the entire council of the university, for the confidence reposed on him.
Meanwhile, he added that he will strive to do his best to build on the outstanding achievements of the current VC. Prof. Ahmad Mohammed Gumel, is an Alumnus of University Malaya in alaysia, where he obtained a Master of Biotechnology and Ph.D in ndustrial Biotechnology.
He has a specialization in Biocatalysis and Bioprocess Technology in 2009 and 2013, respectively. He was also a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Malaya, Malaysia in 2014.
