Jigawa state executive Council has approved the sum of N2,651,596,547.52 billion for 2026 Hajj operations as Hajj operational fund to ensure a hitch free operation.
The state Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sport and Culture, Mr Sagir Musa made this known while briefing newsmen om the outcome of the state weekly executive council meeting on Thursday in Dutse.
He said that the approval was given after a presentation was made by the Secretary to the State Government Mr Bala Ibrahim, who highlighted the financial requirements of the operations.
The presentation, according to Musa, highlighted the need to ensure the smooth planning, coordination, and execution of all activities related to the 2026 Hajj exercise.
“The funds will cover logistics, welfare, medical services, administrative arrangements and other essential components to guarantee a safe, organized, and successful pilgrimage for Jigawa State intending pilgrims.
The state government he revealed, has been committed to supporting the spiritual aspirations of its citizens, while ensuring transparency, accountability and efficiency in the management of public resources.
“The council is assuring the public, that all relevant agencies, will work diligently to deliver smooth Hajj operations, in line with global best practices,” Musa said.
Meanwhile, he added that the Council had also approved the sum of ₦374,111,331.68 million as consultancy Services for 560 Unit Housing Development in the state.
“In line with the present administration’s commitment to delivering highquality housing infrastructure across the state, thus the need to engage a competent consultancy firm, to provide the technical expertise.
“The construction of the 560 units of 3-Bedroom detached and 2-Bedroom semi detached houses statewide, aims at ensuring strict adherence to standards and efficient project management.
“This is also to ensure a successful delivery of durable, modern, and affordable housing units, that meet the needs of Jigawa State citizens,” Mr Musa explained.
