The Minister of Defence, Badaru Abubakar has urged Jigawa state citizens to provide feedback to the government on development programmes through the Citizens Engagement Platform, for improvement.
Abubakar gave the task this on Sunday at the inauguration of Auyo – Ayama Road in Auyo Local Government Area of Jigawa state.
He advised the residents of the state to avail themselves opportunities of the newly introduced citizens community engagement initiative, to voice out their concerns on government’s policies and programmes.
“The government is close to you through this project, I urge you to utilise it and give feedback on your needs, and I’m sure they will be granted,” he said.
He commended Gov. Umar Namadi over the execution of viable infrastructure and rural development projects to fast track sustainable social and economic development of the state.
“The governor has successfully completed a large number of our uncompleted projects and we are very delighted to witness the commissioning of some of them today.
“In the next years, he will have thousands of roads and other vibrant projects to commission in Jigawa state and beyond.
“I am a fulfilled man knowing that I have fulfilled my promise of providing a vibrant successor at the end of our tenure, ” Abubakar said.
He prayed for peace and unity in the state and the country at large, and urged members of the All Progressive Congress (APC), to remain united and avoid rifts.
Also speaking, the Leader of the APC in the state, Isa Gerawa reitrated commitment to peace and unity in the party.
Gerawa commended the leadership of the party for ensuring unity and harmony among its members.
The state government under Gov. Umar Namadi, expended about N3.8 billion on the construction of 9.5 kilometer Auyo – Ayama Road.
