Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association(MACBAN), has appealed to the Kano state government to establish a livestock Ministry, in view of the administration’s commitment to the development of agriculture in the state.
A statement signed by the Chairman, Kano Chapter of the association, Capt. Abdullahi Bakoji (Rtd), made this known on Sunday.
Bakoji in the statement, commended the commitment of Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf, for boosting the welfare of Kano residents and pastoralists.
“Your administration’s efforts in promoting agriculture and fostering peaceful coexistence have been truly inspiring.
“In line with your vision, we humbly propose the establishment of a
Ministry of Livestock Development in Kano State, as seen in some other states,” the statement said.

The chairman in the statement, highlighted the benefits of a Livestock Ministry, saying that it will support Pastoralists in improving animal husbandry practices, upgrading livestock breeds and improving grazing reserves.
He added that it will also improve animal feeds and other animal health services, thus providing modern

The action according to Bakoji, will assist in conflict resolution by addressing farmer-pastoralist disputes, while signing with the global best practices of the SDGs.
The association however, expressed gratitude to Governor Yusuf for prioritizing the needs of all citizens and pledged continuos support for the administration.
