NFVCB seeks  partnership with Kano Censorship board to collate Hausa films data

The acting Zonal Coordinator of Northwest Zone, National Film and Video Censorship Board, Alh. Aliyu Sani, has expressed concern over low submission of Hausa films for censoring.

This was contained in a statement signed by the board’s information Officer,  Abdullahi Sani, made available to newsmen on Monday.

The statement said that the Zonal Coordinator made this known during an official visit to Alh. Abba El-mustapha, Executive Secretary of Kano State Censorship Board on Monday.

Sani explained that the purpose of the visit, is to strengthen the relationship between the two organizations and seek collaboration in films data collection.

He emphasized the importance of film censoring and data keeping, highlighting that it will benefit the northern film industry, through federal government interventions and international organizations.

The Zonal head appealed to the Kano Censorship Board, to educate stakeholders on the importance of collaborating with the National Film censorship board for data keeping and collection.

He further highlighted that the board’s primary focus, is film regulation and not revenue generation as generally believed.

Earlier, Alh. Abba El-mustapha,  expressed appreciation for the visit and promised to collaborate with the National Film and Video Censorship Board in all areas of development.

Mustapha assured the board’s maximum support and cooperation towards achieving the desired results.
