Jigawa state Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports, and Culture Jigawa State, Sagir Musa Ahmad, has led a delegation from Jigawa state to pay a condolence visit to Kano State and families of the deceased atheletswho died in an accident on Thursday.
During the visit on Tuesday, Mr Ahmad conveyed a condolence message from Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi, who is on a working visit to India.
He described the incident as a great loss, affecting not only the families but also both Kano and Jigawa states, as the youths represented their states with honor.
The Commissioner however, praised the late athletes and coaches, describing them as patriotic individuals who would be remembered for their contributions.
He prayed for the repose of their souls and prayed to God to provide their families the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss of the team of youngsters.
Responding, the Kano Deputy Governor, Alhaji Aminu Abdussalam, appreciated the visit, acknowledging the tragedy’s impact on the nation, thus prayed against future occurence of such incidents.
The condolence visit underscored the solidarity between Jigawa and Kano States, in times of both tragic and good times.
