Jigawa State Public Complaints and Anti Corruption Commission (JG-PCACC), has visited the Public Complaint Commission(PCC) in Abuja, to seek for collaboration to foster transparency and accountability in Jigawa.
A statement signed by the Head of Public Affairs of the commission in Jigawa, Mr Yusuf Sulaiman made this known on Wednesday.
The statement disclosed that the Chairman of the commission, Barrister Salisu Abdu, said the aim of the collaboration is to Identify the commission’s stakeholders and explore areas of collaboration.

Mr Abdu, according to the report, emphasized the importance of synergy between the agencies, explaining that the objective of the agencies is to prevent abuse of power and maladministration in government agencies and public institutions.

The chairman further explained that JG-PCACC, has dual functions that comprised of public complaints and Anti- Corruption, noting that the commission has in received over 150 complaints.
He stressed that a lot of the cases have resolved amicably and amongst the cases were marital issues, Inheritance, debts recovery and transaction disputes.
In his response, The Chief Commissioner of the Public Complaints (PCC), Hon. Bashir Abubakar, gave a brief history of how the Abuja commission was established in 1975.
According to the Chairman, ” The new order now is how many cases are resolved amicably not how many prison yards you built.
”Jigawa State in one most peaceful state but you can help the state to achieve even more when you leverage on ICT to make lodging of complaints much easier,” he said.

He therefore, urged the Jigawa team to maintain high standard and personal integrity, to be able to operate effectively, noting that they need to be present in all nooks and crannies of the state.
Furthermore, Mr Abubakar assured the Jigawa team of his commission’s support and assistance in the discharge of its mandate.
Also, the Jigawa team visited the former Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related offences, (ICPC) Abuja, Barrister EKpo Nta in his office.
Nta, who is the current Chairman, National, Salary, Income and wages commission, was instrumental to a lot of reforms in the ICPC during his tenure at the commission.
The objective of the visit by the Jigawa team was to gain support and advice on planning and strategy to move the Jigawa commission forward.
Barrister Nta, commended the JG-PCCAC for the visit and assured them of his support especially in areas of Staff Productivity Audit and Strategic and Plan.
The visits underscored JG-PCACC’s commitment to building a formidable team that will foster transparency, accountability and good governance in Jigawa State.
